About the Foundation
This work comes from real experience. It has grown from understanding that each person in the relationship carries something worth honoring — their own story, their own challenges, their own reasons for why they are, where they are. Each person deserves to be genuinely valued, respected, and heard. Challenges, like this can be opportunities for the relationship to become more authentic and valuable than it was before. That kind of depth rarely arrives in a moment. It often comes after years of deliberate, intentional work that ends up making each daily step worth it.
Our Mission
The Healing Relationships Today Foundation helps individuals and families navigate faith transitions, changes in belief, and other family trauma.
Our Vision
Faith transitions and changes in belief don’t have to be the end of the relationship. It can be a new beginning to something more authentic and valuable.
Our History
Founded in 2025 by people who have lived faith transition and changes in belief from several sides — and who are still walking that road. The foundation is established to support both those experiencing a faith transition or change in belief, and those closest to them. The HRT Foundation received IRS 501(c)(3) recognition in January 2025 and is based in Providence, Utah.
Each person is going through something
When someone’s beliefs shift, the people around them feel it too. A spouse can be shocked to discover something about the person they married that they didn’t see before or never would have expected. A parent can feel like a failure for not doing more to prevent this. A teenager can be confused about what is happening — why things are changing and what it means for their family and themselves. The person changing, is already navigating something soul wrenching and doesn’t want to lose the people they love. All of this is real. All of it deserves respect and attention.
Finding help you both trust
When one person in a relationship is going through a faith crisis and the idea of using a counsellor or therapist comes up, a lot of feelings can arise. “We shouldn’t need a counsellor, we can handle this ourselves.” “Reaching outside might make things going on between us worse.” “The kind of therapist or counsellor they want would probably just support their position.” “If we go to a therapist they choose, they’ll just push us toward the outcome they’re after.” Finding someone that both people feel comfortable with can genuinely be challenging sometimes. These and other concerns can shape how a person or couple approaches getting help or whether they don’t get any help. We’re aware of these concerns and want to do right by each person. That is why we are not focused on getting any particular outcome. We just want to help you through the process, so each of you can bring your best self to whatever challenges you face, which will naturally bring the best outcome for you.
Healing begins within you
Other people, good resources and professionals can support you, but ultimately, the real healing comes from within you. We are happy if we can help that healing come. Our courses and tools are built to help you at your own convenience and at your own pace.
Accepting healing wherever it is found
We draw from practical psychology and wisdom from many traditions. We are not here to move anyone toward or away from any particular field or belief system. We are here to help people find their healing and from there, give their relationships the best chance to heal as well.
